Certain words cannot be freely registered under .ma: references to the Kingdom ("maroc", "morocco" and variants), city or municipality names, acronyms of public bodies, specific regulated technical vocabulary, and any application under the .AC.MA, .PRESS.MA or .GOV.MA extensions. In these cases, ANRT first verifies the applicant's identity and the legitimacy of the intended use before the domain is activated.
